A HIDDEN TREASURE

The Legacy Estate Wellness Resort Bali occupies a verdant and undulating setting on Bali’s dramatic east coast, flanked on one side by the surging Indian Ocean, with Bali’s sacred volcano Gunung Agung rearing upwards to the north. The land brings together all of Bali’s classic elements – a rice field plateau with views of the ocean and the neighbouring island of Nusa Penida, plunges abruptly into a river valley punctuated by thick stands of trees, flora and rocks sculpted by the course of the water.  Looking inland, the eye is drawn to serried ranks of jungle-clad hills and stepped rice paddies.

The Legacy comprises 75 elegant dwellings, a wellness sanctuary, a destination restaurant & lounge, a wedding chapel, convention centre and a culture park. At the heart of The Legacy is the Wellness Sanctuary, which typifies an holistic approach to wellbeing, with treatments ranging from the aesthetic to the energetic to the therapeutic. Cutting edge approaches from the medical to the cosmetic are delivered in tandem with time-honoured techniques. Add a restaurant whose views are as enticing as its world class cuisine, a convention centre fitted with the latest state of the art equipment, a space dedicated to traditional arts from yoga to dance to painting and even a wedding chapel designed in the traditional Balinese architectural style and you have a self-contained world, where luxury is as much about the richness of experience as it is the outstanding service and facilities. DEDICATED TO WELLNESS

The Legacy’s state of the art wellness facility occupies the brow of a steep hillside, facing a panorama of rice fields and beyond, Gunung Agung, Bali’s sacred volcano. An elaboration on the traditional Balinese wantilan pavilion design, the wellness centre is divided into two wings, one dedicated to healthcare and cosmetic treatments, the other to spa rituals, bodywork and massage. Spilling down the hillside beneath the main facility are six self-contained spa pavilions designed to provide couples and individuals with the most intimate pampering experiences imaginable – ones that can be drawn out through the entire course of a day if desired.

Holistic Health

The Legacy’s approach to healthcare is genuinely holistic, as cutting edge western medicine operates in tandem with Chinese and other modalities. A range of comprehensive check ups is available, tailored to various needs, alongside rigorous diagnostic procedures, medical treatments and long term healthcare plans that address diet, exercise and cognitive improvement. In situ diagnostic treatments include blood tests, body scanning, cardiovascular check ups and more. The facility is even equipped to carry out minor surgery in a state of the art operating room. Aesthetic treatments run from dermatological procedures like laser therapy and needle-free mesolifts to surgical facelifts and liposuction.

Beauty Within & Without

The Legacy Spa combines ancient healing techniques from around the Indonesian archipelago and the rest of the Asia region, with the very latest advances in spa therapies. The Legacy’s therapists are receiving extensive training in a range of systems, from deep tissue massage and acupressure to Reiki and hot stone application. The Legacy has teamed up with revered Australian spa brand Pevonia Botanica to present our guests with the finest spa therapies and products on the market – all of them 100% organic. Pevonia have created an extensive menu of exclusive treatments for The Legacy, from hair treatments to foot spa pedicures to body scrubs. All use Pevonia’s signature spa line, including such exotic ingredients as caviar, water lily and Moroccan Rasoul and seaweeds.

Leading Health Expertise

Wellness Centre Curator and lead consultant Dorothy Dowd - M.B.Ch.B.,(Otago),  FRACGP, Dip MSM. (Otago), PG Dip TM&H., Cert Trav Med – brings with her more than 25 years of medical experience at the upper echelons of her profession. She has worked all over Australia as a locum and General Practitioner, whilst continually deepening her knowledge of alternative health techniques, in particular acupuncture. Working with a rigorously trained team, Dr. Dowd is devising a unique menu of consultations and treatments that address everything from smoking cessation to peri-natal therapy to nutrition and weight loss, as well as comprehensive health check ups tailored to specific needs.

FETTLE RESTAURANT & LOUNGE

The Legacy’s signature fine dining restaurant stands on an elevated plateau, its curved silhouette affording far flung westerly views of the ocean – the islet of Nusa Lembongan is even visible on clear days.

Fettle serves pan-European cuisine alongside a selection of dishes from the Pacific Rim – from breakfast through dinner. The emphasis is on exquisite flavour, with dishes that use the finest local produce, fish and seafood selected daily from the market as well as exclusive imported elements. A wide range of organic and healthy eating options is also available to complement treatment programmes at the Wellness Centre. An extensive selection of wines, both classic French and New World, is on offer. Fettle’s lengthy curvilinear bar is the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif before lunch or dinner.

Intimate Dining

Above the restaurant is a privately accessed pavilion dedicated to couples dining – with its lofty positioning, it offers 360-degree views of rice fields, ocean and volcano. For those seeking a more sylvan setting, another pavilion has been secreted by the riverside, far from prying eyes. Alternatively, a wide range of catering options is available in villa, from dinner for two to a buffet garden party.

Cocktail Lounge

Separated from Fettle restaurant by a tranquil pond teeming with fish, the cocktail lounge is a relaxed yet sophisticated space designed for pre-dinner aperitifs and post-dinner mingling, with soft music, mood lighting and furnishings designed for comfort and communality, with views across manicured lawns dotted with stands of trees.

THE RESIDENCES

The Legacy offers five accommodation options, each distinguished by superlative build quality, contemporary interiors accented with Balinese artworks and top of the line amenities – from fully fitted kitchens complete with European appliances to LCD television and surround sound audio.

Lagoon Suites

The Legacy Estate’s 48 lagoon suites give directly onto a public pool area – guests can literally walk out of their bedrooms and slip straight into the water. Beyond are lush tropical gardens set with palms and other tropical flora, accessed via quaint wooden bridge. Each one-bedroom suite looks out onto the gardens and comes complete with living and dining area, kitchenette and balcony.

Suite Villas (Rama-Sita romantic valley)

Ranged around a central swimming pool, the eight suite villas deliver both privacy and a sense of community too in their quiet garden setting. Bedrooms are en suite, there’s a substantial open plan living area and a garden terrace, perfect for al fresco breakfasts.

One, Two & Three Bedroom Villas

The Legacy Estate features six villas of one bedroom and a further 12 villas of two bedrooms. Designed in a bow formation, these exclusive residences are at the very heart of the Legacy Estate and their positioning reflects the course of the river that they face. Surrounded by landscaped gardens, the Legacy’s villa residences give a sense of being immersed in the gentle Balinese landscape, in a secret vale far from the madding crowd. All feature private pools with decks, daybeds and barbecue area, garden pavilions, en-suite bathrooms with oversized tubs and rain showers and high quality finishings in local stone and hardwood. Villa residents enjoy a comprehensive portfolio of services, including butler, kitchen staff and maids.

Heavenly Nuptials

The Legacy Estate’s Balinese style chapel is set in the middle of a pristine stretch of lawn. The unruffled waters of a reflecting pool surround it on all sides and the space itself is equipped to accommodate a wide variety of different wedding ceremonies, from traditional Balinese to Christian.

Arts & Culture Park

Set beside the river amid stands of tall trees and close to a sacred temple, the art & culture park is dedicated to enriching the experience of being on the island of Bali. The site is dominated by a traditional Balinese wantilan pavilion, which is the venue for regular performances and showcases in the realms of traditional dance, painting and sculpture and gamelan orchestra music. Other activities include yoga and meditation, with both private and group classes on offer.

Convention Centre

Featuring state of the art multimedia facilities, the convention centre is fully equipped to accommodate as many as 200 delegates, with flexible interior spaces that can be divided or expanded depending on needs. Whether guests are planning a wedding reception, team building activities, conferencing or a celebration, the convention centre is being designed to cater for every kind of gathering.

Pool & Kids Club

Situated behind and beneath Fettle Restaurant, the swimming pool area represents a retreat in itself, ensconced at the edge of the estate’s gardens. Bordered by an expansive deck dotted with loungers and sun beds and with its own kitchenette and bar serving poolside tapas, soft drinks and cocktails, it’s the perfect place to while away an afternoon in the sunshine in great company. Just metres away is the dedicated kid’s club, where fun and education activities take place from morning till night, all fully supervised by trained child carers.

GUEST EXPERIENCES

East Bali is fast emerging as one of the most exclusive resort districts on the island of Bali – it’s also conveniently located, with a raft of leisure options within easy reaching distance. Spend a day at the award winning Elephant Park in the nearby village of Bakas and ride on a Sumatran elephant, go white water rafting on the picturesque Telaga Waja River. The Bali Safari Park is just a few minutes drive from The Legacy Estate and other easily accessible activities include horse riding, mountain biking and trekking. For those with a culinary turn of mind, The Legacy offers Balinese cooking classes, including market visits and an introduction to the many indigenous ingredients that grow on the island.

MANAGEMENT

The Legacy has teamed up with one of the South East Asia region’s foremost operators, Tauzia to develop a management service and staff team of the very highest caliber. In the months preceding the opening of the Legacy Estate, Tauzia will be providing high level training across all levels of resort operation, from butler service through food & beverage to front desk.

AN OUTSTANDING INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY

As an investor in The Legacy Estate Wellness Resort, you get two highly attractive options. You are guaranteed a 6% year on year return on your investment for the first three years, but you also have the option of taking 30% of the net villa revenue. The 48 lagoon suites are not for sale, but remain under the exclusive ownership of PT Agrowisata Gianyar Bersemi, and as such function as security against the 6% guarantee. The projected ROI is based on an extensive study by the Legacy’s development team (available on request) and draws on land value statistics released by the local Land Administrator (BPN).
